Robotics Products for Research and Education

Robai’s premiere product is the Cyton Alpha robot arm. This breakthrough system is an innovative seven-degree-of-freedom robot arm with a structural layout similar to the human arm. Robotics researchers call it kinematically redundant--its extra degrees of freedom give it fluid motion and allow it to reach around obstacles. Cyton comes with configurable control software that makes it easy to exploit its kinematic redundancy with built-in interfaces to input devices, over the Internet, or using your own programs. This software controls the Cyton arm in real time based on desired behaviors that are configured off line.

Robai produces products for the consumer, research, and educational communities. Our robotic hardware and software, based on NASA research, is built to perform again and again in demanding environments, yet be affordable. Each Cyton performs with high accuracy and repeatability while reaching around obstacles, avoiding joint limits, and optimizing for strength.
